Spirit of Maryland Royalty
The Spirit of Maryland Award is presented annually in lieu of a traditional Homecoming King or Queen honoree. The Award is presented to a male or male-identified and female or female-identified member of the senior class who through their achievements has most exemplified the "spirit" of the University of Maryland. Criteria for the award include outstanding scholarship, leadership, campus involvement, community service, and communication skills. A committee of faculty and staff interviews students who are advanced to the final round of the application process. Homecoming Service Project

Kick off Homecoming week and “Do Good” alongside student group Terps Against Hunger and the UMD campus community. Volunteer on one or both days as we pack 250,000 meals and help feed local families.
Juke Joint: Homecoming Edition

The Nyumburu Cultural Center presents the Juke Joint, a Homecoming staple celebrating artistry and creativity. Student performers express themselves through song, music, dance and poetry. Admission is free but tickets are required.
FRIDAY, NOV. 1 / 4-8 P.M.
The Division of Student Affairs takes over McKeldin Mall to treat Terps of all ages to an evening of carnival games, prizes and live music. The not-so-little ones can visit the beer garden with local crafts and more. Cap off the night with a spectacular fireworks display at the heart of campus.

Homecoming is about celebrating the University of Maryland and we want to make sure that everyone has their chance to wear their best gold, black, white, and red outfits. If you're on campus please join us in celebrating every color of our alma mater.

"Fearless Ideas" Ice Cream
This limited-edition Maryland Dairy ice cream reflects the university’s global influence. It starts with Maryland cream blended with Free Trade Latin American and European chocolates and a hint of Madagascar vanilla. This chocolate base is then swirled with sweetened Italian mascarpone cheese and melted chocolate truffles blended with a splash of Sagamore Spirits Maryland rye whiskey. It will be available only at the Stamp and select concession stands at Maryland Stadium.
Homecoming Office Decorating Competition
Using the theme of “Haunted Homecoming” and “Win Over the Wolverines,” staff, faculty and students are encouraged to show their Homecoming spirit and win a pizza lunch and a trophy to be rotated annually between the winning offices.
Groups must register by Oct. 15 and can start decorating their suites or reception areas on Oct.n18, spending a maximum of $50. (Recycling of materials is highly welcome.)

Stadium Drive Traffic Circle, Just Outside the West Gate of Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium
Join the Maryland Spirit Squad, Dance Team and Mighty Sound of Maryland as they welcome the Maryland Football team to the stadium prior to the game! The team buses will arrive on campus at roughly 2 hours and 20 minutes prior to kickoff, and they need YOU to greet them as they step off the buses and walk into the stadium! Also be sure to check out the free food, inflatable games and kids' activities, and take your picture in front of our GIANT Ms!
