This will be our third year hosting this Homecoming Luncheon for a select group of outstanding graduate and undergraduate student leaders in conjunction with some of our outstanding alumni.  Our aim is to introduce students to individuals whose own lives and careers were nurtured while they were students at the University of Maryland.

Our guests will be invited to hear the two Terp alumni who will engage in a “TerpTalk,” using a format similar to TED Talks.  One of our featured speakers will be Paul Monteiro  who is Director of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Community Relations Service.  Paul previously served as director of AmeriCorps VISTA at the Corporation for National and Community Service.  From 2009-2014, Mr. Monteiro was an advisor in the White House Office of Public Engagement and led outreach to faith-based organizations, Arab-American communities, and anti-poverty groups.  The other speaker will be Cathy Barham Campbell who serves as Vice President for Senior Markets for Blue Cross Blue Shield in California.  Cathy is a two degree recipient from the Merrill School of Journalism and a 2006 Distinguished alumna.  She is the mother of a 2016 University of Maryland graduate.  Both Paul and Cathy were exceptional student leaders during their time at the University.
